Then as ppl find bugs/problems they could go to _that_ page and inform the original creator. (I don't know if the guys would agree with me on that, so opinions ppl?) In this way the patches can get fixed, and if ppl like stuff.. well down the road we can consider patching them in. Bjorn, I wouldn't see any problem having alink to Fred's page (if we don't have one already). What do you think? OH, and Fred, if I can help out at all, let me know. /Adi On Wed, 5 Feb 2003, Fred wrote: Thank you Robert, you're totally right ;) But I was looking for a name for my webpage hosting the patched Rockbox version, and have been thinking of doing these three branches ... let's see how things are going on. Now I'll do what I was meant to do : a patched release with some tested patches (that means a release I post on my website won't be broken) and a pair of new features. I've seen a lot of posts asking if the maintainer could build a firmware with the patch he made available, and got a little trouble when I wanted to merge them myself. Now that I've got a patched version that really works, I'd like other RockBox users to be able to test and use it. My release is being called Sid, and I append the DD-MM-YY string to know when the release has been compiled. I'll try to keep it up to date as possible, and try to resolve patch conflicts when they happend (there aren't lots of patches available for now, so the task is not too difficult yet). My idea is to provide the latest official CVS source bundled witrh the latest patches, for the end-user. And now that I've heard you developpers speaking, it shouldn't in fact be a good idea to keep my release just next to the official ones, because of the bug reports. ... and I just updated my release :-D Fred +-- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --+ | Robert E.
