Second person you reckon? Funny, I bought this one second-hand off of a dude in *uckland... hehehehe. Now I wanna recorder, the games and stuff look cool...

Anyways, will try these two... although I don't hold much hope, I'm not too confident about finding an equivalent part as it would mean I'd have to put my faith entirely in a correct decision... Yeah right.

Cheers all the same,

Ricky

Wow. The second person in New Zealand to own an Archos product!

what about Radio Spares. They are similiar to Farnell. Or you could try getting an equivalent part. Most wholesalers won't be very interrested in supplying you one part. You could try www.polykom.com.

Yeah, I tried. No such luck.
Farnell charges more like a herd of wounded elephants... Especially with an
order of less than 5 *specialised* parts...

Thanks for the help all the same. I have a feeling I might just be sh** out
of luck.
I've got hold of Hynix themselves, who replied by saying they aren't
currently producing this part, and don't have any in stock but due to
customer demand they will start producing them again... In June...

My only hope is finding someone who has them still in stock, else I'm gonna
have to wait until June...

Any other suggestions? I'm open to pretty much anything...
Cheers,

Ricky

You could try Farnell

ml) but they tend to charge like a wounded bull.

Subject: JukeBox in Australasia...

Hello All!

I've just aquired my new (2nd hand) toy, a JB6000... having read most

(if

not all) documentation on rockboxx etc, I'm willing to have a go at

modding

the memory in my JB... I realise this isn't a job for the faint-hearted,

but

I'm pretty confident all the same...

My prob is I'm having a damn hard time trying to source the suggested

part

(Goldstar -
GM71VS65163CLT5

, or the newer Hynix version -
HY51VS65173HGLT5

) *Anywhere!*, let alone somewhere that will ship to New Zealand...

Hynix

themselves doesn't even have any in stock, and won't until June!

What I was wondering was if there was anyone in Australasia (or anywhere
really, this is just a little closer to home) who has done this, or

knows

where I could source this part, or could possibly donate (or sell) one

or

two to me?

Cheers for any help,

Ricky
