I appreciate that the theoretical max is 4.2v, but that is not what the hardware gets to. Maybe Archos put some limiter in the hardware to prevent overcharging or something. I repeat - these are observed values from the hardware, not whitepapers or spec sheets, and are therefore what a user will see.
