RE: Functional test of Parts

Hallo Daniel,

yes, i am german, but I think it's better to keep this list here in english,
because I don't want to keep out all the others. If you have problems, you
can mail me directly at andreas.stemmer at web.de.
The only thing I can write about this topic is what I've read on this list:

Try a set of new, externally charged batteries first. If your jukebox works
with them, but doesn't charge them, you have a problem with your charging
circuit. The main part is a dc-dc converter(LM2651 from National
Semiconductor in the recorder models, I don't know which one in the
studio/player models). I remember several posts here that reported a
successful exchange of this ic. You can get free samples directly from NS.
If you open your jukebox, you'll find your problem, if you look carefully at
the pcb, following the tracks from the dc input to the dc-dc converter.
It'll be a little bit burned probably. Some people reported that only
changing this ic was enough to make it work again, but nevertheless you
should have a close look at the surrounding areas.

I hope this helps,

Andreas Stemmer
