I have more music on my harddrive than would fit on the Archos, so I don't want to do a full sync! What I did was write a small program in Perl, which works on both Windows and Linux. It examines the playlists on the Archos, and then copies across any music files that are listed to the correct locations. The only configuration needed is the base directory name for my harddrive music (G: or /multimedia) and my Archos (I: or /mnt/archos), and my program does the rest. All I have to do therefore is copy over any playlists that I want (either drag'n'drop or rightclick->send to), and then run the program. It uses Tk to display 2 progress bars (playlists and current playlist), and any error messages (missing music files etc).
