I very rarely play an mp3 file directly. Even my albums (which is most of my mp3 collection) has a playlist for the album. To play tracks in the right order without a playlist, you need to include the track number at the start of the mp3, otherwise you get them in alphabetical order, and adding track numbers (IMHO) is messy. I pretty much always listen to an album in the original order. I also have home-made playlists for tracks I like, and often listen to these shuffled, but I generally do it through the F menu as it's only a couple of buttons presses away. Personally I wouldn't use this feature, but I like the more general ideas being touted in .cfg files.
