It certainly depends on your definition of "super expensive". After having reviewed schematics of several homebrew type microphone preamps, both with and without bias, I've come to the conclusion that unless you take the time to build one yourself, you are going to get fairly well ripped off. Sound professionals seem to have the most reasonable solutions in the around and under $200 range. The SP-PASM-2, for instance is a self contained, single point stereo mic that is preamped and biased with good quality electret elements (20 - 20khz, 91dB, max 120dB SPL) $209. Also if you have your own mics, SP-PREAMP for $169, raises mic signal to line level and provides 9volt plug in power to raise the maximum sound level that can be recorded. other stuff there too, like mics and preamp built into headphones for easy stealth recording, etc. www.soundprofessionals.com >-Matt Received on 2003-03-17 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
