I have gotten this error numerous times. All of them have been static to
queuing, recording, and writing a .cfg file though. After it had been
freshly formatted this started. I scandisked it in Windows the first
time it came around and it fixed. It broke a few days later though.
After playing with it over and over I have found a rather strikingly
static conclusion. If I leave the disk spindown at 5s, the default, I
have NO PROBLEMS whatsoever, besides things being a bit slower. If I
change it to 30s, which is what I am used to, it does not work. Bringing
it back down to 5s does not work either. I must reset settings and not
touch the disk spindown settings. Any other tests you think I should
perform to see what the problem is?

What percentage of the users get the red LED error? I have never gotten

this on either my 1.3 year old recorder 6Gb or my replacement (shorting
out display) recorder 6Gb (3 months old).

I know the emails of "Well *I* don't get that error" are not productive,

but I am just curious as to whether this is a widespread problem or
isolated group. All we have seen so far is from the people that have
the problem, so it is hard to judge how widespread this problem is.
