Further testing, with today's build with the "stop playing immediately
when button is pressed" and the "improved responsiveness for dirplay"
fixes...

1 ajbr20, IBM 4200rpm drive...timing from hitting of button to music
playing of next track. using 192kbit mp3, size ~8mb. 5 tries each,
averaged.

20030312 - power-saving configurable
power-saving off: less than 4 seconds
power-saving on: 8.5 seconds

20030406 - before fixes - 8.5 seconds

20030410 - after fixes - 5.5 seconds

conclusion: much better, but still not the responsiveness I was used to
before power-saving mode. I was used to getting as little as 2 seconds to
skip a track, and less than 2 seconds to start a track from the browser,
as opposed to 4 or 5 with current build.

Not a big deal, just small annoyances. As I have said before, I would
just really prefer if this option was configurable rather than mandatory.

Also, note that with today's build, if you try to skip forward when on the
last track in a dir, it just stops the track and does nothing.

Thanks,

Owen
