You are on the Drivers download page, you need to be on the Software download page. On the main page (www.archos.com) hover your cursor over the word "Download" in the green bar near the top of the page. On the purple bar right below your cursor, there will appear several words, starting with "Drivers", then "Software", and then more we don't care about here. Click on the word "Software." This will take you to the page with the latest FM firmware. It's about half way down the page. Download the ZIP file, extract the files, and you will find the ajbrec.ajz file you are looking for. Rename that file to anything else you want, just remenber to keep the ".ajz" in the end. Some people recommend naming it to "archos.ajz" since that's easy to remember and to find when you need to "Play" it. Finally, copy it (the renamed version) to the root directory of your Archos' hard drive. > So I > download those, extract them to my jukebox hard drive, > and...where is the ajz file?? If you do that, you will not be able to use RockBox, which would REALLY be a shame. > > I have read the FAQs about rolo-ing and think I > understand how to do that once I have both versions on > there; I'm just embarrasingly stuck at this beginner's > hurdle of simply FINDING the archos firmware so i can > rename it as archos.ajz Hope this helps! > > thanks again - sorry to interrupt the advanced > programming discussion :) Actually, it's not really a bother, IMHO. In fact, I see questions from inexperienced users as a chance to improve the documentation.
