Rockbox mail archiveSubject: mp3 recording problemsmp3 recording problems
From: Jon Drukman <jsd_at_cluttered.com>
Date: Tue, 06 May 2003 18:46:39 -0700 hello. i brought my jukebox recorder to a live show i was playing this weekend in order to record the show. it didn't come out as well as i'd hoped. first off, is the -3.0db limit on the line in a limitation of the hardware or the software? i was using the tape out from my mackie 1202 mixer and even though we weren't redlining the mackie, the recording is distorted in places. i had the gain down as far as it would go (-3.0 db) but it would be better if it could go down further. second, we played a 45 minute show, and the mp3 file on the jukebox is 62M in size (i recorded on max quality), but there's something weird in the file at 16:22. it plays fine on the player (although it makes a little glitch sound) but on every pc program i've tried (winamp, sound forge) it just won't read past that point in the file. one thing i noticed is that rockbox says the file is 192kbps but winamp shows it jumping around between 164-168 (vbr?) is there any way to salvage this file? i can upload it somewhere if someone wants to take a look at it. -jsd- Received on 2003-05-07 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
