First, you said I reformatted the disk on a windows machine in the "FAT" language, Did you reformat in fat 16 or fat 32? If you select the disk in the "My Computer" application in windows, then hit alt+enter, this will bring up the disk's properties, and they should tell you whether you're using the 32-bit system. If not, this may be why the Mac isn't mounting the drive, that is, does the Mac read external FAT disks? This theory is negated by the fact that the Mac did mount the disk once, but it would be good to check that you're using 32 and not 16. I don't know whether the disk Good luck. Here's where I'm at. I took my JBR20 since it was having problems getting stuck when starting up the disk with the Archos software. I reformatted the disk on a windows machine in the "FAT" language, took it to my mac and loaded up the RockBox 2.0 software, took it back to windows machine and reinstalled all my .mp3, erased all the nuisanse .fb and .db files that the mac has origianlly added as i loaded the JBR20., everything working really fabulous. I noticed that when I unzipped the .ajz file (what ever its extension was) into the root of the JBRor, it didn't create a .rockbox folder. Now I formatted on the windows machine and uploaded my music that I had on the windows machine. I used my mac to put in the rockbox software file and my mac did read the JBR20 that fist time, then I put my music back on with the windows machine cause I could see the blimy misc,. files the mac created. I use my Mac OSX for most of my work and now I can't get the bloody JBR20 to mount on my Mac machine. I don't always have access to my dad's laptop and want to be able to use my mac. So the first thing I need is to figure out why I can't mount on my mac anymore? Is there some issue again with the windows machines and the mac machines adding files maybe? In regards to making a playlist at the top of a folder, I have usually just put a space in front of a filname and that brings it to the top. I would also like to see some more work done in the future for making playlists. The only thing that did work on the archos software seemed to be the playlist maker. I'd love to figure out how to make a playlist manually but I'm affraid I'm not technically knowledged enough to do this unless someone where to walk me through it step by step. New to all of this and eager to learn. GRIFFIN Received on 2003-05-12 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
