I see the same problem on my player with a 5 GB disk.
Just like you, my Rockbox info display shows much more
 free space than what is shown by Windows 2K.

Rockbox shows:
   Disk: 4.6GB
   Free: 1.0GB

Windows 2K shows:
   Used space: 4,631,822,336 bytes 4.31 GB
   Free space: 382,525,440 bytes 364 MB
     Capacity: 5,014,347,776 bytes 4.66 GB

The interesting thing is that both you and me get a
free reading that is off by about a factor of 3.
