Date: Wed, 21 May 2003 11:43:30 +0300 I can confirm the restarts, and it's the messy kind too. It only happens to me when I am not extremely careful (and only in XP): Make sure to properly stop the device (stop it from XP - never turn it off while connected) before disconnecting, to give it some time between disconnecting and reconnecting again, never to let the batteries run down and to let the rockbox fully start before conecting. The XP USB drivers are an unstable piece of ****, but can be worked with if you handle them with extereme care. About the conflicts, disable anything you don't need from the control panel (system->hardware->device manager), it helps, the plug & play capabilities of XP are still not adequate (I have to disable USB2.0 just to get a reliable internet connection). Also check your Plug and Play CMOS settings. -----Original Message----- From: romain.gardon_at_srbrest.com [mailto:romain.gardon_at_srbrest.com] Sent: Wednesday, May 21, 2003 11:02 AM To: rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se Subject: > Has anyone encountered any configuration problems with archos jukebox > recorder 20 & windows xp professional edition? Thanks [Well, my first post here, sorry for my English...] I have lots of problems with windows xp pro and my jukebox...I have a player, but it's not a problem with archos hardware. My device works just fine with other computers running windows 98 ans the same drivers. And on my personnal computer, I have no problem with linux, it works perfectly. But with xp, when I plug my jukebox...I/O problems, conflicts, my computer reboots (very funny...it reboots without any command for that), corrupted filesystem...I uninstalled archos driver, and now I use my jukebox only with linux... ********************************************************************** This email and attachments have been scanned for potential proprietary or sensitive information leakage.
