Subject: minimalistic win32 rockbox sdk update

minimalistic win32 rockbox sdk update

From: <for_spam_at_gmx.de>
Date: Thu, 22 May 2003 23:50:00 +0200 (MEST)

hello,
i have made an update of my minimalistic "rockbox sdk" for win32.
(original download and installation docs is at:
http://rockbox.my-vserver.de/win32-sdk.html)

the sdk is made for "easy installation" and for people with low-bandwidth
internet access.

the update contains the following changes:
- you can now compile win32 code, i.e. you can compile rockbox tools and
win32 uisimulator now.
- you won`t need separate download/installation of rockbox tools anymore
- it is slightly larger(~1.5MB), but it is even more "lightweight", because
there is NO SINGLE FILE left inside [thank you sysinternals guys for your
GREAT windows tools! :) ] , which isn`t really needed for compiling rockbox
(this is good regarding size, but this maybe bad regarding "future"
compatibility, because rockbox could depend on additional binaries/headerfiles in the
future. if this happens, I could/would release updates, if rockbox won`t build
anymore because of missing files...

You can download the sdk for testing at:
http://rockbox.my-vserver.de/rockbox-win32sdk-full.tar.bz2

Just rename your existing c:\cygwin and unbzip2/untar the file to c:\

Then build rockbox tools and go ahead as usual.
please comment or report problems.....

regards
roland

ps:
I did this update, because people seem to like the sdk - there have been
>500 downloads of the initital release till now....
