That's a good idea. I'd like to avoid the doctoring as much as possible, but
that option is always there - especially when a mic booster may not be!

Something else Ive found is to "doctor up" the file Ive recorded using a
line in mic. I have a powered mic from Radio Shack, and it makes a very low
db recording. SO what IVe been doing is dragging the file back onto my hard
drive, then loading it into my editing tool (Acid) and then enhancing the
weak signal, and also making it a stero recording, since the mic is mono. It
works pretty well
