Date: Mon, 14 Jul 2003 14:06:44 -0700 My audiobooks run anywhere from 16-196 bitrate, mostly about 48, so the unit should play quite a while. However, if it runs for let's say 12 hours, and the batteries die in the middle of your shift, that's 4 hours of silence...UGH! My job is fun, but boring, and as long as we keep out stats up we can listen to whatever we want (that's the fun part!)...however, after hours of nothing I'd be nigh onto looney! Sooooo....can you charge it every day, even if the batteries haven't died yet? And re the question of the better LCD display, I can get the 10 GB recorder and have the regular rechargeable NiMH batteries, the nice LCD display, and still record things if I wanted...that 10 GB sure sounds like the unit of choice for me at the moment. Now if I could record AM radio with or instead of FM, I'd go for the FMR model.... (o: Sharon > > >Shouldn't be necessary because the battery runtime is long enough for a >working day.
