I assume that we have not yet 'forked' into rockbox and rombox. so if I ask if
ROMbox has a problem with its charging, its not to say rockbox does or doesn't.

The observation is that several people appear to feel their ROMbox either
doesn't charge fully, or that the charging report back is 'different' to
ROCKbox.

Is there anything in firmware initialization which could cause this? Are they
seeing a real effect, or not?

I have ROMbox, and haven't had any issues yet btw.
