Hey all,

I'm very interested in picking up an Archos Recorder 20 for use at home, on
the road, and between classes mostly because I was impressed with the
affordable, feature-rich unit combined with the Rockbox open source
firmware upgrade. I just have a few questions before I place my order:

-The Rockbox FAQ says that the Recorder has a digital audio output. This
is great, because I would like to hook the Archos up to my receiver at home
through a digital coax or optical input. Can I just use the cable provided
to go from the digital in/out jack to the digital input in my receiver or
do I need to buy a special cable? Is anyone on here using an Archos in
this fashion that can give me advice?

-Using it in the car. Unfortunately, I don't have an aux in or a CD
changer plug in the trunk, so it looks like I have to go either the
cassette adapter route or the FM modulator route. Can you guys recommend
which one sounds better? Are there particular brands to look out for?

-Durability of product. It seems that people often have major issues with
the Recorder unit's quality. Circuit City has an extended warranty, but
it's pretty expensive at around $55. Are the quality issues so bad that
it's worth it to pick up the extended warranty? Or are the break-downs few
and far between, but just well-reported?

-USB2.0 on Recorder 15s. How can one tell just by looking at the unit if
it's USB2.0? Does it have anything to do with bumper color?

I'm really impressed with the Open Source community you have going on here.
I'm studying computer science at school, and I'd be interested in poking
around the code when I get my unit.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your help!
-Elliott
