I'd like to add my enthusiasm for any work on improving dev envs. I've had
no luck whatsoever in compiling a simulator either on solaris or win32
(using the bespoke sdk or the full gnu/cygwin version). I realise that a
lot of people have done a lot of amazing work here and so I am only echoing
my enthusiasm....

If it is a mere matter of encouragement - here is my part. I never could get
a development environment setup because of this problem, I will find such
kit immensely useful.

Roland, fellow list member, has spent an amount of time producing a working
dev kit, but as very little interest has been shown, it has never been
finished (his words not mine.) Perhaps if we all show him a little
encouragement, he might finish it? I can vouch that the beta version works
just fine, but it really is a beta version in need of a bit more work
before public release. The new dev kit can be installed anywhere and this
can be done via Windows OR command line.
