Player only? Nope. I have a %pf bar and it's sweet.

This change will kill it, however. Part of the change is to not update the screen when the backlight goes out.

Future changes may reinstate screen updates, however.

I feel inept knowing that all those nice people are going to have their email addreses featured in the web archive, and scrapped by spam spiders.
