problem compiling Rockbox

From: Alec Bennett <rockbox_at_wrybread.com>

I'm trying to compile Rockbox for my first time, having some problems. At first
I was using CGYWin on a Win2k box, but I got an error and figured if I'm going
to battle with errors I might as well do it in Linux, so I installed Redhat 9.
I'm following these instructions to build the cross compiler:

http://rockbox.haxx.se/cross-gcc.html

However, when I run the command "/home/linus/build/binutils> ../../binutils-
2.11/configure --target=sh-elf --prefix=/home/linus/sh1", I'm getting the
error: "you must set the environment variable cc to a working compiler".

Anyone have any tips? I'm adjusting the paths to my installation and all that
(in other words, changing the user name), I've downloaded and installed the
various tar packages (at least, I followed the instructions in that link). It's
a spankin new Redhat 9, and I'm leaving the GUI to work in a Terminal window.
If it matters, it's a PIII 450 with 256 megs of RAM.

Thanks for any help.
