Finally found a simple working solution for really gapless VBR MP3 playback
on my JBR20 using a patched version of lame which supports cuesheet input.
It splits the wavefiles according to the cuesheet and even tags the mp3's.
No fixing cutting and tagging manually using three different progamms; just
"copy image and create cuesheet - uncompressed" in EAC and then
"lame --alt-preset extreme CUESHEET CDImage.cue
$n-$t.mp3 --naming-rule --tag --gapless".
The only limitations i found are that it does not allow questionmarks in
the cuefile und it creates only ID3V1.1 tags (except the input is more than
30 characters)

There are patches and binaries for lame 3.93.1 and 3.90.3.
