How have you formatted the drive? On your PC are you running NT, 2000 or Xp version of windoze?
If so you need to ensure you format the new drive as FAT32. To check this connect the new drive to your PC and select my computer, right click on the new drive, properties and check filesystem if it says NTFS then you will need to re-format it.
