Someone needs to REALLY reread the NODO and FAQ's, thats why they are
there.

But what about converting the WAV to MP3 using the SH1 CPU, and then just
feed the result to MAS? Is it possible to do the conversion without

Old subject, slightly changing facts. In theory, it's possible because the
MAS (a proprietary DSP) allows download of small code pieces. So it could be
envisioned to load a simple program in there, which just passes the data to
its DAC with the correct timing. But there's 2 problems to it:

1) We have no details about the MAS, no clue on how to program it.

2) WAV needs substantially higher transfer rates on the serial link. I don't
think it can be cranked up to 1.5 MBit/s necessary for CD rate, with the
software bit flipping etc.
