Just before I went on holiday (arrived back today) I flashed my FMR for
the first time

I am experiencing the same issue with the continued disk spinning when I
plug the charger in with the FMR off

No, it's either Archos or Rockbox software you boot. We can't mix the
parts.
What we can do is improve the Rockbox charging screen...

Oops, never heard of that. I will check. Is anybody else experiencing
this?
