I can't for the life of me find any source code. The only thing I'm seeing is source for side projects, such as a database DLL for interacting with the on-disk data, and the Positron project run by Xiph. I found a response to an old question I posted on their forum in late 2002 asking about this: "To answer your question, we will allow programming on the Neuros on at least three levels: First we'll publish enough information on the hardware to allow an almost complete replacement of the software on the device, akin to replacing windows with Linux. Second, we're working on an interpreter/compiler architecture that would allow 3rd parties to add "applications" within our existing software. This would be great for things like allowing the device to do all kinds of interesting things with the DSP, that musicians, DJs and enthusiasts would be interested in. From slowing down lecture recordings to acting like a synthesizer, the possibilities are endless. Thirdly, is the conduit level, where users would be able to customize the Xi menus (these are the contextual pop up menus that appear all over the UI on the device) to provide additional functionality, most of which would be executed by the PC." -- http://www.neurosaudio.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16 So we'd be able to "do a rockbox" on our own all over again but they are not open sourcing their firmware. Do you have more updated information? Maybe they have changed their position? Googling their site, reveals little to that effect though. -- BjörnReceived on 2003-09-20 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
