Rockbox mail archiveSubject: serial interface usesserial interface uses

A PIC chip (e.g. the 16F628) has 16 i/o pins and can easily be programmed to talk to RS232 or similar serial device and an LCD display - could such a setup be used as a bi-directional remote? If rockbox supported a remote of this type, and defined a protocol, a PIC program could be created and remote controls made quite cheaply... any takers?
