RE: FM Recorder won't turn on / USB left connected overnight

I was under the impression that the batteris on the Recorder couldn't be
removed. Is it as easy as unscrewing the 4 screws around the blue
cushions?

When you say "limited power supply" what exactly did you use? I am away
from all of my tools living abroad, and have limited electrical
knowledge/experience, and so I'm a little lost and need a little bit
more specifics...
Thanks.

You'll need at least 6 volts to commence a charge. 1 amp will do it.

The easiest way to bootstrap an FMR after flattening the battery is to
take the battery out and charge it externally. I just had to do this on
a friend's FMR so that he could get his stuff off before returning it on
extended warranty.

I simply hooked both batteries in parallel by taping copper wire across
each end and then hooking the battery to a current limited power supply.
I set the current to one amp and allowed it to charge for an hour. That
charges the battery about half way, more than enough to get the thing
running again so that the internal charger can take over.

FWIW, this FMR that I had to work on had its battery charging circuit
fail. That's why it's going back. That's the last one of the several I
caused to be bought several months ago. We all now have Recorders and
could not be happier.
