As to the battery vs. cell issue, it's as much a matter of convenience as anything else. Automotive batteries are truly batteries, consisting of several cells. Some notebook batteries are a single cell and some are batteries, but given the packaging, who can tell? And, it could be said that one "creates" a battery when they put multiple cells in a device like the Archos. In any case, one has to admit that "cell" has enough definitions to create confusion when speaking in general terms without specifying "electro chemical cell" and "battery" used in most contexts will be more readily understood, since it's application in this case is not likely to be confused with "the act of beating", "a set of guns or artillery", "a baseball pitcher and catcher" or "the percussion section of an orchestra". :) Chris On Thu, 30 Oct 2003 02:19:29 -0600, lovelearn wrote: > I spent a few hours researching this cell or "battery" issue.
