I posted it lunchtime today (Thursday),

It cost £7.30 recorded delivery parcel post + an additional £4.30 to
insure it
That’s £11.60 or $19.75 at today's exchange rate.

If anyone is interested, I'll post again when it's returned.

I have e-mailed Mike at newmp3tech, and he will make it clear that it is
a warrantee repair, in an effort to keep HM Customs away...
