Subject: how much would a non-updating LCD wps setting save my batteries?

how much would a non-updating LCD wps setting save my batteries?

I'm unsure how much current gets saved by making the WPS present a static screen
and only change per-track, or when doing filestore/menu stuff.

With backlight off, is a non-updating LCD sufficiently economic to be worth it
for battery savings? (eg on a 14 hr flight Australia->USA)

If the WPS defined a 'null' screen with NOTHING: not even static text, does it
save any more?

Whats the cost of reverse-video?

cheers
