I meant internal short-circuit WITHIN the single cell, eventually caused by overheating during charging, due to significant differences (capacity or percentage of charge) between this and the other cells. Three of them got charged and the poor, hot-blooded and prematurely full fellow only got cooked! No wonder he is annoyed. To avoid this problem (if this is the problem), charge all cells separately with an external charger. When using this pack of cells together, every cell receives and delivers the same current. The weakest one (normally by some percent) determines the maximum playtime but no overcharging will happen. Repeat this from time to time to compensate aging and wear. mr.escape At 20:43 13.11.2003, you wrote: >I don't think that this was the reason, because the recorder worked well >with the old batteries after it went hot. > >----- Original Message ----- >From: <mr.escape_at_gmx.de> >To: <rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se> >Sent: Thursday, November 13, 2003 3:20 PM >Subject: Re: 2300 ma batteries with jukebox recorder? > > > > If only one of the batteries was extremely hot, an internal short-circuit > > can be the reason. > > > > mr.escape > > > > At 14:53 13.11.2003, you wrote: > > >Hello, > > >i wanted to run 2300 ma batteries with my jukebox recorder.
