Kevin - I got mine from Amazon also (rec'd on 11/24).
It did not have a carrying case either. I threw away
the box already and did not notice that it said a
carrying case was included.

Good luck on getting a response from Archos. I sent
them an e-mail three days ago asking about the
availability of a remote for the V2. Not heard a peep
from them. From other bulletin boards I gather that
the odds of actually getting a response from their
tech support are about one in twenty. I plan on
e-mailing them twenty times.

Unless, of course, anyone on this list has the answer.
