That is your call, but I feel I made a mistake doing
The same thing (In my case there was an iPod between
Them - but that was an even bigger mistake) - the Recorder
Form factor has more screen and button protection, and the
FMR has already been back for repair once due to duff
charging circuit. Finally I can carry spare cells with the
Recorder but not the FMR - OK with 15hrs battery life not
too critical but a valid point for many users

Mine is flashed - as soon as it was fully charged when it
Was delivered new, and again as soon as I had checked it
Was working correctly when back from repair.
Start up is about 4 seconds, certainly no more than 5
