Rockbox mail archiveSubject: Remote for JBR20 - V2Remote for JBR20 - V2
From: Andrew Glass <dpaglass_at_yahoo.com>
Date: Mon, 1 Dec 2003 17:24:59 -0800 (PST) For those with the newer JBR20 V2 - I received a response from Archos Tech Support (yeah, I was surprised too...). They say that the remote for the FM recorder will work with the JBR V2. I e-mailed him back to get an actual part number for the remote, so that if I buy it and it doesn't work I can get my money back. On their web site, the remote lists for $49.95. By the way, I saw on a Yahoo board that someone who got the JBR V2 have been able to get FM functionality through Rockbox, even though they didn't get the FM version of the hardware. The suggestion was that the functionality of FM on the V2 is a matter of having the right software as the FM "chip" is on the V2 system board for both JBR and FM Recorder. Not sure if I understood that correctly though, but it would be a nice "freebie" if it can be made to work. I couldn't e-mail the guy because he actually posted through another list that was posted onto a Yahoo message. On my JBR20 V2 (w/Rockbox), I can launch the FM feature, and the tuner control works, but I'm not getting any stations/sound playing through the headset. Anyone know if I'm barking up the wrong tree on this, or can the FM be made to work? Thanks Andy Snipped up a bit: > -----Original Message----- > From: Phillips, Steven [mailto:phillips_at_archos.us] > Sent: Monday, December 01, 2003 4:07 PM > To: ANDY GLASS > Subject: RE: Jukebox 20 - V2 > > > > Rockbox isnt suppoted by Archos at all... so there > is nothing we can do > about that. the remote that you talking about will > work with the V2 > recorder... and the new batteris are better for the > unit instead of only > lasting 1 year the new one will last the liftime of > the device > > > > Regards, > > > > Steve Phillips > > Archos Tech Support > > 3-A Goodyear > > Irvine, CA 92618 > > 8 am to 5 pm PST > > (949) 609-1400 ext 209 > With respect > to the remote control, is there a model for another > Archos product that > is compatible with the V2?
