Subject: .rockbox directory missing problem

.rockbox directory missing problem

One of my friends who has a Recorder and runs Rockbox on and off (he complains
that it is too complicated to record but that's another issue.) brought his
unit to me today with a problem. When he'd try to play anything he'd get a
"playlist queue full message". I futzed around a bit, reset the unit and
played a saved config file to no avail. Then I realized that he had deleted
the .rockbox directory at some point. I made the directory back and
everything was fine.

So. I wonder if y'all could modify Rockbox to detect the missing directory
and either give the appropriate error message or even create it?

To revisit the record feature again, my friend is a union steward and uses his
Recorder to record impromptu encounters with management. He needs to be able
to start the recording quickly and inconspicuously. Now he has to go back to
Archos firmware to do that.

I've had a couple of occasions recently when I needed to record conversations
with corrupt city officials and I had to excuse myself to get the recorder
going and then come back.

A single record button would be most valuable for these occasions. Could we
maybe have at least a single-key-record config option?
