LOL! Fred, you ruined my day! I now feel like such a complete dumbass. I
assumed by reading the Archos feature promotion on the orange side of the
box which reads "Fast USB 2.0 Plug & Play connection" that it did transfer
at 480 mbps. Now that I read the smaller print on the back, I see that it
does actually say the 12mbps rate. I'm really beginning to despise Archos.

Irrespective of my misunderstanding, and Archos misleading advertising, I
also was trying to find high quality, well shielded, gold plated connectors
for USB. This is much more critical for True High Speed USB 2.0 480mbps
transfers, like I use for my external Maxtor 250GB USB 2.0 HD (uses A to B)
Now this Archos cable pursuit has become mute.
