Now I'm more confused. Björn, on the back of these three Model 500277 20 GB
Recorder boxes, one of which was the defective HD that I'm returning to
Amazon, it says two things:

"USB 2.0 Interface"
"Transfer rate to computer up to 12MB/sec"

All of these models have the newer flashable ROM chips. Are you saying that
this model definitely transfers at 486 mbps USB 2.0 rates?
