Date: Wed, 17 Dec 2003 21:47:40 -0500 I'm sure newmp3technology would be willing to do a re-fix, but how would they know if it was working without the firmware on the flash chip? Even if the firmware is replaced, how long will it last before it hardware faults again (without replacement of major components, like the pcb)? And if I were to get a new Archos, it wouldn't be 60gb (unless I paid somebody to mod it for me) and it might (here's my agenda again;) ) well suffer from the same (lack of) quality control for which Archos is infamous. But I do love hacking on my mp3 player. Unfortunately, the Neos look like Fisher-Price toys. Crap. This has been a week from hell. -----Original Message----- From: owner-rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se [mailto:owner-rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se]On Behalf Of scott Sent: Wednesday, December 17, 2003 9:28 PM To: rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se Subject: Re: Good news and bad news --- TP Diffenbach <rockbox_at_diffenbach.org> wrote: > Now for the bad news: about 7 and a half hours after I got the unit back > from newmp3technology, it again began to exhibit hardware problems: pressing can't you complain to them? they should "re"-fix it for free or at least refund your money. although you would have to do the uart boot mod for a fix to be useful. -scott __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
