Date: Thu, 18 Dec 2003 08:28:15 -0500 As someone who often rubs people the wrong way in mailing lists, I have to say that this thread is likely to make the situation worse. I strongly recommend that Daniel and Bluechip take this matter offline and settle it like adults. Insistence on public apologies and calls for banning people from the list are not the answer. Nor are publically insulting e-mails. Just look at the message below and it's easy to see why Bluechip is angry: > I don't think this project has benefited one single bit so far from his > "help". And from a previous e-mail > He brings no good to our project, and he will keep yelling his twisted > opinions and now when you ask him you'll read his confused version of "the > truth", and some additional stuff about how I "attack" him. Gee, how could Bluechip not view such messages as attacks? Of course he's angry when public postings like those are made about his efforts. When Daniel posts messages with titles like "Bluechip berserk", then, Hell yes, Bluechip is going to be angry and he has every right to be. I have noticed that Daniel tends to see everything as having two answers: his answer and the wrong answer. I've recently experienced that when we were discussing daily builds vs. formal betas. Like me, Bluechip is strongly opinionated and his refusal to give in apparently is a large part of the issue here. In closing, while Daniel may be a fine developer who has tirelessly contributed to Rockbox, it doesn't mean that he's automatically right and that anyone who disagrees with him is wrong. Daniel, if you want an apology from Bluechip, then give him the apology that you owe him in return.
