Subject: Bad behaviour on low power

Bad behaviour on low power

Hello everyone,

I have a JBR20 with Rockbox 7-Dec-2003 (short after V2.1).
Yesterday my box went mad for some time. The harddisk spins up and
down and up and down forever! I tried to plug in the charger -
did not help. Change the configuration was not possible because
of the resets every now and than.

Finally I solved it by booting the Archos firmware and charging
it a little!

I guess the reason is my "Deep Dischange=Yes" and "Resume=Yes".
If power drops below about 4.5V then Rockbox stops playback and
resets somehow. But then it tries to resume playback what makes
power drop again...

So if I am right and if someone works on a central concept for
low power situations, I would be pleased to help (perhaps reproducing
the effect described above). Unfortuately I have not the time to try
it myself at the moment.

Merry X-Mas & happy new 2004!

+++ Oliver
