This is normal behaviour, when the ? is visible the current battery level
has not been calculated as it takes some time.

Although, I originally suggested having a question mark when level is not
known perhaps another soutino shoulw be found? Some sort of activity
animation I guess but what? and something that fits in the space available
is also difficult to find...
