Subject: Sucky Batteries

Sucky Batteries

Hi,

I've read the battery faq, and I guess I'm gonna have to replace the stock
batteries that came with my JBR20. I'm only getting about 1.5 hours of
playtime out of them, nowhere near the 6-8 hours I should be getting.

I've deep discharged and recharged fully a few times in the hope that it
might improve, but no joy.

What's the worst playtime people have had out of stock batteries? I'm just
wondering whether my box is faulty, as I remember reading an article here a
while back about someone who opened up their box to do some work on it, and
found that the battery contacts were not right. It was a FMR20 with a
lithium battery, IIRC, but I'm wondering if the same reasoning might apply.

Stupid question, but does the size of the headphones have any relation to
battery drain? I've got a pair of Koss UR-30's
(http://www.epinions.com/Koss_UR30_Closed_Headphones_Headphones), and they
are substantially larger than the (useless) stock headphones that came with
the box. (Not only is the sound bad, but they're too small to fit properly!).
