Date: Sat, 17 Jan 2004 17:02:44 -0800 (PST) I've been reading this list for a while but I just subscribed to it. I use an Archos Jukebox 6k and an Archos Jukebox Recorder v2 on various desktops and powerbooks under Mac OS 8.6. I'm putting a little faq together for other people who use these devices under classic mac os. As soon as I get my site up and running I'll make a post to the list to let everyone know. Someone wrote the list about problems with their Archos under Mac -- some basic things to keep in mind: already mentioned: classic mac os uses HFS or HFS+ format, the archos must use FAT32. The mac reads the archos device using pc exchange. mp3 files must be named "file.mp3" for the archos to know they are playable mp3 files. The mac may not always name an mp3 file with the .mp3 suffix. I've had problems at times plugging the archos into the mac and getting it to mount if the batteries are too low even when it is plugged into the charger. and if you are posting to a list asking for help with mac and archos, please put your os and system info in the post. using a pre-g3 ppc machine under os 8.6 is way different than using a G4 under os x. I'm not a super expert on anything but I'll try to help where I can. Pook Received on 2004-01-18 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
