Rockbox mail archiveSubject: Two-way serial comms with no internal mods...Two-way serial comms with no internal mods...
From: Joseph Jones <joe_at_bumpycarrot.cjb.net>
Date: Tue, 24 Feb 2004 00:18:40 +0000 I talked about this earlier a bit... Since two-way communication is possible if we use both the line-in's pin and the in-line remote pin (man, that looks dumb written like that :) ), would the system be able to talk to PC-style hardware through a serial port? If so, would any electronics have to go in-between, or could the JBR hardware be co-erced into doing something that a PC could understand as serial (even if there was no existing protocol on the Rockbox itself, a custom protocol would surely be needed for such a limited device... can't expect it to handle a TCP/IP stack).
