Rockbox mail archiveSubject: Quick Skip/Instant Replay PatchQuick Skip/Instant Replay Patch

Date: Tue, 2 Mar 2004 22:23:55 -0800 Since I installed Rockbox, one of the things that kept tripping me up was the use of LEFT/RIGHT to do both reverse/fast forward AND previous/next track. I kept skipping to the next track when I wanted to fast forward through a commercial on a show I recorded. I couldn't just jump ahead gracefully 30 seconds by pressing the RIGHT button just once. So I decided to hack it. I ended up with the following patch. 1. A single press of the LEFT or RIGHT button will skip or rewind back the ffwd/rev interval from settings. This is the Quick Skip/Instant Replay feature. If you are at the end of a track, it will skip to the next track. If you are near the beginning, it will restart the track. 2. Pressing and holding the LEFT or RIGHT button will do what they did before. 3. Pressing the ON button with RIGHT will skip to the next track. Pressing the ON button with LEFT will either jump back to the beginning of the current track or go back one track, depending on where you are in the MP3. 4. Pitch used to be accessed by pressing and holding the ON button. The above change made that impossible, so I moved it to the sound menu and made it look like the other options menus. Also, LEFT and RIGHT used to change the pitch in increments of 2%. To better conform to the other options, I moved the 2% change to ON+UP and ON+DOWN. You can download the recorder only version of the ajz file from: www.samuraipanda.com/ajbrec.ajz And I submitted a diff at: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=908831&group_id=44306&atid=439120 Ben _______________________________________________ http://cool.haxx.se/mailman/listinfo/rockbox Received on 2004-03-03 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
