I also might be able to record some stuff, I'm not an expert programmer but
do know some, so -- since I'd be one of those benefiting from this project I
feel like I should be involved. I'm working on a degree in computer security
so I don't have tons of time, but helping to make this happen would be fun.

I would be honored to help with the voice recording. I believe I could
make fairly decent voice clips for the menu system. Contact me off list
and I will be happy to send you some samples of whatever you want, so you
can see if the quality and file parameters are acceptable.
