 No, there was no loop back.. just one stereo cable out of the tape Out jacks
into the line in of the Archos Recorder. And it wasn't the sound of
'feedback', it was just a whole lotta awful, scratchy, LOUD electrical noise. All I
did was turn the unit ON. I hadn't yet even gone to the recording screen.

 One of the people there suggested perhaps a ground differential causing the
noise..?

But as I said, the Archos unit has been performing faithfully for months
hooked up exactly the same way. Only since this last OS update did it happen.
