Rockbox mail archiveSubject: strange FM recorder behaviourstrange FM recorder behaviour

Date: Tue, 16 Mar 2004 19:19:09 +0100 Hello, I have a problem with my Archos Jukebox FM Recorder turning it into a Rockbox. After copying the Rockbox software to the hard disk and rebooting, the original boot screen still appears (status bar moving, saying OS Version 1.30j) followed by a very brief apperance of the Rockbox logo. After that there is the Rockbox and I can use it, everything's fine. But when I turn the device off by holding the OFF button, it turns off suddenly without saying something like "shutting down". I've had a different device before that behaved differently using the same Rockbox software: You could see the Rockbox boot screen for a longer time and the original boot screen had disappeared. Also the shutting down process took longer and there was the comment to be seen. What's wrong? I turned my first device in for warranty because it often simply wouldn't boot at all. It seemed rather to be a question of chance when it would really turn on. Instead it just used to show a flickering backlight and the leds every 5 seconds. Even charging the batteries would result in this behaviour. Strangely enough, this FM recorder would always boot up when the USB cable from my computer was plugged in. Although I have experienced this booting problem also once with my new device, it seems to work much more stable. It's only the strange booting and shutting down screen that worries me. I really would appreciate your comments and help. jari _______________________________________________________________________ ... and the winner is...
